Losing weight comes after

For dealing with weightloss or other health issues it’s important to put yourself into timeframe. Of course you would like to get results by yesterday however it will be easier to understand the reversal process if you concider how long it took to get you into this situation.

So to get out of this situation is not about eating something different or doing a diet for some time. It’s a lifestyle change. This means if you decide to take the path. There’s no turning back. It’s not a path you can jump on and off. It’s permanent understanding that what you put in your mouth has immediate effect on your well-being.

The 3 steps of healing

If you are overweight but don’t have other health issues consider yourself lucky. Losing weight is easy and you will get results. If you have other health issues losing weight and making a lifestyle change most likely will improve the issues however they might need special medical attention.

Water weight
If you start eating by our guidance depending on your starting weight you can lose up to 4kg of weight a week for about 3 weeks. If you have been eating a lot of pizza, pasta, rice, bakery, chips or other highly processed carb rich foods  your body stores a lot of water to handle the carbohydrates (sugars) that come with this type of food. Eating differently will help to get rid of the excess water. This phase is also the hardest beacause you will also be creating new and different bacteria in your gut. The outgoing bacteria will be craving for more sugar during this period and you will be craving for snacks. Stay strong, the change is just around the corner.

Losing fat
After losing extra water your weightloss will slow down. However if you observe closely your waste will continue to shrink slowly. This is the phase when it’s very important not to stop or take a break. You should steadily continue on your healthy path. The results will follow. Doing sports starts to play more important role. Your craving should start to go away.

Sustainability
One or maybe two months after making your lifestyle change you should have no cravings. You have lost some weight but you feel energetic and you have a much better perspective of life. You have incorporated some physical activity in you life and you are able to sometimes skip a meal without problems. This is the phase you will be wanting to keep. You will continue to lose weight until you get to your ideal weight. This might take years. But the time does not matter. You are on a healthy path and probably by now you don’t want to turn back.
